Americas Wind Energy Corporation (AWNE.OB) announced that recent activities in the market for wind turbines installed by educational institutions in the United States and Canada have lead to increased demand for the company’s wind turbines.
Such activities include:
• An AWE 54-900 kW wind turbine is currently being delivered to Wray, Colorado for installation at the Wray RD2 School District. The wind turbine will be connected to the Wray municipal grid and provide clean renewable power.
• Americas Wind Energy recently responded to a request for quotation for the installation of an AWE 900 kW wind turbine on the campus of The Cape Cod Community College in Sandwich, Massachusetts.
• A delegate from the University of Illinois recently visited AWEC representatives in Toronto to view the AWE 750 kW wind turbine installed on the Toronto waterfront. The University plans to install three AWE 900kW wind turbines on a wind farm on the south campus of the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.
• AWEC responded to a request for quotation by the University of Maine Presque Isle campus for the installation of an AWE 900 kW wind turbine for research and development, educational and revenue producing purposes.
The company believes that similar opportunities exist within educational institutions in the United States and Canada. Regardless, Americas Wind is pleased with their current activity within the educational market and seeks to find more unmet wind needs in the near future.
