Bibb Swain currently has ALL Energy focused on producing and selling ethanol and its co-products. The company has already obtained $2 million in private equity funding, purchased 150 acres on which to build its proposed ethanol production facility in Manchester, Iowa, and signed a five-plant engineering and design agreement with Delta-T Corporation.
Mr. Swain began his career in the Air Force, where he served for 20 years. His responsibilities included calculating the performance of rocket motors, testing the accuracy of airborne anti-aircraft missiles on a F4 Phantom fighter, and finally serving as the Director of Mechanical Engineering for a wind tunnel test facility.
In the 1970s, he began researching the different issues and technologies related to alternative energy production. By applying what he learned in the Air Force, he developed equipment and technologies to make ethanol production more efficient and with lower capital cost. He obtained his first patent in 1985 for a direct mechanical vapor compression technique that reduced the energy required to distill ethanol by 70%.
His influence effects organizations across the globe as he is active in various industry associations, and has promoted the development of the ethanol industry in many foreign countries.
