AlumiFuel Power Corp. (AFPW.OB) Subsidiary Receives First Purchase Order for Its Commercialized Cartridges

AlumiFuel Power, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AlimiFuel Power Corp., is an early-stage production company that generates hydrogen gas and superheated steam through the chemical reaction of aluminum, water and proprietary additives. This technology is ideally suited for niche applications requiring on-site, on-demand fuel sources.

The company announced today that it has received the first purchase order for AlumiFuel cartridges for its Portable Balloon Inflation System PBIS-1000 portable hydrogen generator. The order was received from Kaymont Consolidated Industries – the world’s largest distributor of weather balloons and the company’s partner for lift-gas applications – on behalf of an unspecified military customer.

The cartridges will be used to fuel the three PBIS-1000 units that were delivered to the customer in April. The PBIS-1000 uses two 32-ounce cartridges to generate 1,000 liters of hydrogen in 20 minutes to launch a 5-foot weather balloon. This initial order of 240 cartridges will be used by the customer for training purposes, prior to anticipated operational deployment of the generators. Members of AlumiFuel Power’s technical team will travel to the customer’s location to assist in launching the training program.

The customer is expected to place additional purchase orders for the generators in the second quarter of 2010, and for a continuing supply of the cartridges. The company’s director of engineering, Sean McIntosh, said, “This purchase order is another significant milestone for API. Delivery of our first commercially produced AlumiFuel cartridges is a testimonial to the state of our technology in this field. Our cartridge design, fabrication, and packaging know-how will allow us to quickly respond to future purchase orders from existing and new customers.”
