A Recent Report Reveals Many US Bridges are Unsafe; Material Technologies Inc. (MTTG.OB) EFS System can Identify Weaknesses at Significant Savings

In latest news, a MSNBC reporter concluded in light of an investigative report that many of the nation’s bridges are structurally deficient and in need of repairs. These bridges that put travelers at risk do not receive regular inspections mandated by federal law due to the extremely high costs associated with conventional bridge inspections. These conventional inspections also miss as many as 90% of the cracks in steel structures. This puts many people that use the bridges at serious risk as realized in the Minneapolis Bridge incident.

Current law requires that US bridges are inspected every two years. However many believe that problem bridges need much closer monitoring. Conventional methods cannot identify which of the cracks could cause potentially catastrophic structure failure as Material Technologies’ EFS system can.

The reason many bridges go uninspected is the huge costs associated and budget limitations of state departments. They are looking for ways to reduce these costs and Material Technologies’ EFS system fills their need. Its system offers a substantial savings of time and money over conventional methods.

What makes the EFS technology so remarkable is its ability to find cracks as small as .01 inches. This enables engineers to fix problem areas as soon as possible to prevent further damage which subsequently increases repair costs.

Six states have already used the EFS technology in over 25 bridge inspections with great success. Robert M. Bernstein, the CEO, believes that their EFS technology, “Will save many repair and rehabilitation dollars by its timely use, as well as avoiding lane and bridge closures which can have a devastating effect on local commerce, not to mention avoiding potential tragedies of bridge failures.”
