Medizone International announced that AsepticSure, the company’s WHO award-winning green infection control technology, has been granted a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The patent, US 61/223,219, is titled “Healthcare Facility Disinfecting System.”
The AsepticSure infection control system is the only green technology in the world capable of reliably decontaminating infected hospital and healthcare patient rooms to the standard of >6 log (>99.9999 percent) while the room’s contents remain in place. AsepticSure has repeatedly demonstrated 100 percent microbial kill rates when used in decontaminating hospital rooms of the causative agents of HAI (hospital acquired infections).
Patent protection for AsepticSure has now been established in the U.S., Canada, and Singapore, and pending applications are in process for the European Union’s 37 member countries as well as Korea, China, India, Brazil, and Mexico. The company believes this ruling by the U.S. Examiner should be helpful with other pending applications.
U.S. market entry for AsepticSure is anticipated to occur in the fourth quarter of 2013. In preparation, Medizone will showcase the system at the ISSA/Interclean show, which takes place Nov. 19-21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
