We all remember teachers instilling in us the precept that punctuality is a virtue. Hawaiian Airlines takes that statement to heart. They have the distinction of holding the record for the most punctual airline – 36 consecutive months. They are an on-time airline from the land of Pacific breezes and palm trees.
With their base in Honolulu, Hawaii, this company has a market cap of 236.5M and is part of the Regional Airlines business sector. They list on the AMEX exchange. They are the number one domestic airline serving Hawaii, as well as twenty other domestic and international destinations in the Pacific Region.
Hawaiian Airlines is home to over 3,400 employees. Hawaiian stands as the sixteenth largest domestic airline in America. Its fleet consists of 25 aircraft. During the past several years the company received top ranking as one of the Ten Best United States airlines from readers of Conde Nast Traveler, and Travel + Leisure Magazines.
Hawaiian provides an average of 100 daily flights among the Hawaiian Islands. They also offer flights to Australia, American Samoa, and Tahiti. No other airline offers non-stop service from as many U.S. cities to Hawaii as this airline does.
April 14, 2008 saw Hawaiian announce a new service; non-stop flights from Honolulu to Manila, Philippines. This is the first U.S. airline to provide non-stop service between Honolulu and Manila. It is the company’s first gateway city into the Asian market.
On May 1, 2008, Hawaiian will also begin non-stop service from Oakland, California to Honolulu. This opportunity came because of the closure of Aloha, and ATA Airlines, both of which formerly served the California port city. It’s a natural progression for Hawaiian, which has since 2000 been the carrier of choice for the Oakland Raiders for their away game flights.
As a leader in on-time performance for the past four years, Hawaiian continues to deliver for its customers. They received top ranking in 2007 from Airline Quality Ratings, and have had the fewest misplaced bags for the past three years as well. They continue to provide travel pleasure to passengers seeking sun, sand, and surf on their island-group oasis.
