Amish Naturals, Inc., founded as an organic pasta producer, is keeping up with the growing number of consumers seeking to add more fiber to their diets. It is teaming up with widely known health guru Amy Hendel, Found and CEO of HealthGal.com and Registered Physician Assistant as well as certified in nutrition and exercise physiology, to release the national roll-out of its new Fiber-Rich pasta as part of the Company’s Hi-Fiber Initiative at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, California, the country’s largest natural food and health products tradeshow.
Amy Hendel commented, “When it comes to maintaining good health, there’s no doubt that fiber plays an integral role. Amish Naturals is making healthy eating easier for Americans by allowing them to incorporate fiber into their diet by eating flavorful food without forfeiting taste or quality. Fiber-rich pasta cuts from Amish Naturals don’t taste unnatural; they’ve succeeded in creating savory healthy pastas, seamlessly combing great taste with nutrition.”
The U.S.D.A recommends 24-30 grams of daily fiber intake, while the average American only consumes half of that recommended amount. Fiber-Rich pasta presents the opportunity to consumers 12 grams of fiber which is six times more than ordinary pasta.
Amy Hendel added, “As more consumers begin to recognize the benefits of fiber, they are seeking fiber sources from the foods they know and love to incorporate into their diets. Fiber-Rich pasta from Amish Naturals offers a delectable way to effortlessly meet this demand. Plus, in addition to being delicious, the all-natural Fiber-Rich varieties are certified organic, low in sodium and contain no preservatives.”
Amy Hendel is renowned as a media expert for iVillage.com and her contributions to The Today Show, as well as her weekly appearances on NBC’s Housesmarts show. Amy’s recommendations for choosing “superstar” pastas, cereals, grains and pastas can be found in her Health Family for Life book. She strongly points out the need for more a fiber-rich nation in her Fat Families Thin Families book, coming to shelves in June.
President and CEO, David Skinner, Sr. of Amish Naturals commented, “The addition of Amy Hendel and the Hi-Fiber Initiative is another example of innovation from Amish Naturals, a company dedicated to providing healthy and savory meals the whole family loves. Our commitment to the Hi-Fiber Initiative extends beyond our Fiber-Rich pasta. Already incorporated into our granola products, like the bar also launching at Exp West, we expect our method of fiber fortification will help increase the fiber content of not only our line of products, but other brands as well.”
Stacey DeHass, Executive Chef of Amish Naturals said, “Every strand of Amish Naturals pasta combines organically-grown durum wheat, ingredients from certified organic farms and ultra-purified well water to form paper –thin sheets, which are then cut into individual strands and air dried to preserve flavor and texture.”
