On February 29th, NavStar announced the second generation product design concept for Voice Navigator II™, an innovative product that has a wide range of advanced yet easy-to-use features. It will be an all-in-one, cutting-edge designed slim device that combines hands-free calling, voice navigation and total voice input. The device will transform GPS navigation and the hands-free calling into an affordable, easy-to-use and safe experience. Voice Navigator II™ is designed to maximize safety and easy usage and will make the device very safe to use. More unique features will be announced in the next few weeks.
Elizabeth Mazzae of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration stated, “Devices like head sets or voice-activated dialing may lead to longer dialing times than for hand-held phones but the delays offset the potential benefit of keeping both hands on the wheel.”
N. Douglas Pritt, NavStar Technologies Preseident and CEO also comments, “The ability to use your voice to make hands-free calls and get turn x turn directions in this all-in-one device will make this product unlike any other on the market today. Four factors are paramount in our approach to personal navigation and hands-free calling. That is safety, ease of use, affordability and product platform for new services. These are features that customers have been requesting and we can provide at a price point that will appeal to the mass market.”
How this works: When a customer needs directions, all they will do is use their Bluetooth headset to call the NavStar server. They will provide basic information as to their destination and at that point turn- by-turn directions will be downloaded to the NavStar device.
