Well Power, Inc. is in a unique position of holding the licensing rights to Texas as well as the first right of refusal on other U.S. states to a technology that converts waste natural gas into clean energy and engineered fuels. The company is aptly located along the energy corridor of Houston, Texas, the fourth-largest city in the United States and one recognized worldwide for its rich oil and natural gas industry.
Via partnership with the license holder, ME Resource Corp. (MEC), Well Power continuously seeks out opportunities to apply its Micro-Refinery Unit (MRU) technology as a solution to the rising amounts of flared gas and the subsequent increase of adverse effects on the environment.
Gas flaring, which is the controlled burning of excess gas in oil production, pumps roughly 400 million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere worldwide, each year, according to the National Oceanic Administration Association (NOAA). The amount of flared gas has doubled in the last 14 years, representing billions of lost dollars in wasted fuel and heavily contributing to environmental and human health concerns.
Similar reports forecast that gas flaring will continue to increase with increasing oil demand, belching harmful toxins into the air at an alarming rate. In the meantime, Well Power is preparing to capitalize on this tremendous market opportunity and intends to deploy its first unit later this year.
Well Power’s broader plan is to offer its technology in conjunction with full-service engineering, design, construction, modular fabrication, and maintenance and construction management services to clients in the upstream areas of exploration and production. The company intends to first distribute its MRUs in Texas, and then branch out into other geographical areas such as Wyoming, Colorado, North Dakota, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
