It was stated today by industry pioneer MEDL Mobile that globally recognized music producer Timbaland has made a financial investment in HangWith, Inc.
MEDL Mobile’s “Hang w/” app is a global, mobile, social media platform that connects and shares via live-streaming. Initially released via a private beta in January, 2013, it was released to the public in March, 2013.
With more than 100,000 downloads and 2,000,000 user sessions since launching in March, the “Hang w/” app has placed in the top 30 on Apple’s App Store. It enables consumers to be able to produce live, real-time videos to then be sent through users’ contacts.
Timbaland’s artistic collaborators include a superstar lineup of Beyonce, Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg, Madonna, Missy Elliott, and many more. The music icon has won the People’s Choice Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, multiple Teen Choice Awards, as well as multiple Grammy Awards. Timberland personally plans to use the live-streaming app to allow behind-the-scenes access into the music industry.
“I’ve seen the power of social media and how a simple tweet or Instagram pic can bring awareness to an album,” Timbaland commented. “I think Hang With takes things to the next level. I believe the entertainment industry will line up behind this application and I intend to be at the head of the line.”
