IDS Solar Technologies, a developer and distributor of portable solar power generators, has achieved positive results from field testing of its first portable solar power generator, the Solar Survivor. IDST reports that the Solar Survivor was deployed by a Michigan-based company who used the product to continuously provide uninterrupted power to sump pumps at several residential and business locations.
The Michigan company used the Sole Survivor at several different residential and business locations under varying conditions during a three-week period. The product demonstrated its capability to provide renewable and sustainable power, and the ability to renew its battery via its own solar power while continuing to power the sump pumps without interruption. Under additional testing with various size batteries being interchanged, the Sole Survivor still achieved efficiency with no impairment of results.
Sole Survivor was developed as an entry-level battery-based electric power generator for residential and commercial use. The product initially was designed to provide power to recharge cell phones and other hand-held devices or provide electricity for small refrigerators or fans for camping trips or in other remote locations. It also provides portable power for areas under duress where power from the grid may not be available, such as during emergency situations in which portable power for communication, lighting, and to avoid spoilage of food is needed.
In light of its recent demonstration, IDST says it has expanded its view of the Solar Survivor and that additional tests are being incorporated into the company’s next product, which is expected to launch in May.
