Tank Sports (OTCBB: TNSP) today announced that it has completed the development and demonstration stage of its LPG (Propane) fueled motorcycle, and entered the final stage, which is the U.S. on road testing.
This is the second “Green” vehicle to enter the final phase of testing released by Tank Sports, the first being an E85 (Ethanol) based motorcycle. Before being released to the public, Tank Sports required over 5,000 miles of rigorous on road testing in China combined with over 500 miles of testing in the U.S., which Tank plans to complete before the end of this year.
This new model is dual powered and can use gasoline as well as propane. This means you can fuel your vehicle virtually anywhere with either fuel. Propane is a low-emission, economic and easily-used fuel that can play an important role as alternative, non-petroleum fuel for use in vehicles. Propane also has a significantly smaller negative impact on the environment than does gasoline.
Mr. JiangYong Ji, CEO of the company said, “Everybody should take responsibility for environmental protection. Tank Sports considers saving energy and environmental protection as our #1 priority. Motorcycles are more energy efficient than automobiles, and Ethanol and LPG motorcycles are more energy efficient as well as being economical and more practical than gasoline. This model will satisfy the need of people who are concerned about the environment; moreover, it will save consumers’ money when gasoline prices are on the rise and more volatile.”
Key advantages to using Propane. * Propane is widely available. * Propane fuel tanks are 20 times more puncture resistant than conventional gasoline tanks. * Propane emits 60% lower carbon monoxide and 50% lower reactive hydrocarbons than gasoline. * Engines using propane run cleaner and last longer. * Propane vehicles can have as much as double the engine life of gasoline vehicles. * “Premium” gasoline has octane ratings of 91-92. Propane’s octane rating is 104.
