BIO-key International Inc., a leader in finger-based biometric identification solutions, today announced it has partnered with Lumidigm Inc., a multispectral imaging biometrics company, to provide a strong authentication solution for e-prescriptions at Genesis HealthCare System.
Ohio-based Genesis HealthCare System has 200 centers throughout the eastern United States and is currently using BIO-key’s biometric identification software with Lumidigm’s fingerprint sensors to enable staff to quickly, securely and conveniently establish their identity when ordering, verifying or administering medications in accordance with Ohio law.
BIO-key said 2,000 clinicians and staff are using its fingerprint biometrics leveraging Lumidigm multispectral imaging sensors to establish their identity in Genesis Healthcare’s Epic. As part of the partnership with Lumidigm, Genesis will implement fingerprint biometric user logon with Vergence, a single sign-on solution, providing accurate identification regardless of whether the staff member is wearing latex gloves.
