Argentex Mining Corp. reported that the company has begun an exploration program targeting mineral deposits at properties located in South America. The company is prospecting mostly for silver, but also believes that gold, zinc, lead and copper may be present at the site.
Argentex Mining Corp. said that the Pinguino property is located in Santa Cruz province in the Patagonia region of Argentina. The exploration program that Argentex Mining Corp. has planned will cost $4 million and includes a total of 17,000 meters of drilling. The company expects the program to last through 2011.
Argentex Mining Corp. is investigating several silver intersections located in the Tranquilo Trend on the property, which extends for more than 11 kilometers on the property. These include the Tranquilo, Tranquilo Sur and Luna intersections. Argentex Mining Corp. said that the exploration program conducted in 2009 and 2010 at the Pinguino property found silver and gold mineralization.
