International Stem Cell Corp. is a biotechnology company focused on creating therapeutic products using its proprietary parthenogenesis technology. This technology avoids ethical issues associated with using cells from human embryos.
The company today announced the formation of a new joint marketing venture between it and a new firm to be formed by John Maudlin. Mr. Maudlin is a significant marketing talent, president of Millennium Wave Investments and author of an economic newsletter that goes to over 1.5 million readers. The joint venture is being set up to launch a line of skin care products developed by the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Lifeline Skin Care Inc.
Lifeline Skin Care’s products have been in active development for over a year and involve a unique, high-tech patent pending formulation for skin rejuvenation cremes using the company’s proprietary stem cells. The product was discovered during International Stem Cell’s therapeutic stem cell research that revealed the stem cell’s potential applications in skin cell rejuvenation.
International Stem Cell believes the tie-up with Mr. Maudlin will provide a much broader potential customer base and a much lower market cost per customer than the alternative marketing programs previously considered. After the initial product launch to Mr. Mauldin’s subscribers in November, the company will offer the product more broadly.
