On Wednesday January 23, 2008 JMI signed an agreement with AT&T South (BellSouth Corporation). As part of the agreement, JMI Telecom Corp will now offer local and long distance telephone services in the AT&T South footprint area.
JMI is headed up by CEO Kyle Freeman who believes that the August reorganization and merger, “represents only the beginning of our first phase of aggressive positioning within the US telecom market. To keep this engine rolling, we needed the equity growth that only the public markets could provide. We are looking forward to actualizing our investor’s confidence in our company in the coming weeks.”
The telecom industry is filled with many competitors, some of which JMI will have to compete with, including other VOIP companies such as Vonage(NYSE:VG), other digital carries, as well as companies who offer local and long distant services in the region.
