It’s taken a few days for the news to hit, but it looks like share prices for Aladdin Beverage (Pinksheets: ADTJ) have finally started to turn around.
Two days ago, Aladdin Beverage released news that it had been selected as the “exclusive U.S. importer” for Kross Golden Ale, the country’s fastest-growing premium brew from Chile. Now, two days later, share prices for the company have finally gone up, skyrocketing 48 percent to 8 cents a share.
Described by the company as a “unique and distinct alternative to other premium beers,” Aladdin says the South American beverage has a “genuine difference in taste and quality” to most imports. The Kross Web site (www.kross.cl) goes one step further, saying the beer’s unique brewing process gives the beer “a really unique, unmistakable personality, an intense golden color, and characteristic fruit aromas, with notes of caramel and fruits … leaving a refreshingly citric and dry bitterness.”
It certainly sounds like the kind of exotic beverage that Aladdin specializes in. The company has built a reputation on importing classy, unique beers and brews to America, capitalizing on increasing interest for specialty beers in the U.S. while giving the patron countries much-needed trade. In addition to Kross Golden Ale, Aladdin also imports the Argentinean-based Antares label, the Devassa brand of beers from Brazil, and the Macau brand of beer from Macau, China.
Still, Kross sounds like the best winner for the group thus far, an attitude that Ted O’Connor, the President of Aladdin, seems to share.
“We are so pleased to be able to import this fine independent brewer to the U.S.,” O’Connor said in the release. “Consumers are ‘trading up’ and looking for choices in the premium beer category. Cerveceria Kross understands what it takes to be a superb beer and we could not be more pleased.”
Naturally, Cerveceria Kross is just as pleased. Jose Tomas, the Managing Director for Cerveceria, was ecstatic about the deal.
“We could not be more pleased with our selection of Aladdin to enter into a distribution partnership for the USA,” Tomas said. “We look forward to supporting them any way we can.”
