XO Communications, a subsidiary of XO Holdings Inc., provides advanced communications services through its nationwide and metro networks and broadband wireless capabilities. The company today announced the expansion of its domestic and international MPLS network capabilities by securing domestic and international partner agreements. The communications company now provides coverage in all 50 states and 22 countries spread across five continents.
XO’s MPLS IP-VPN is a network offered to businesses and large enterprises, including voice, video and data applications passed over a single IP network infrastructure. Vince Margiotta, vice president of product marketing at XO Communications noted the importance of quality communications services domestically and internationally.
“In today’s global marketplace, it’s more critical than ever before that enterprises leverage technology to ensure they have uninterrupted and secure communications capabilities in place — be it in the U.S. or abroad,” Margiotta stated in the press release. “XO Communications’ expanded network footprint will provide our multinational customers with increased global access, combined with our high quality service and competitive rates.”
XO’s expansion will position the company to address the needs of its customer base, such as the need for seamless network coverage at competitive rates. It will also allow the company to effectively manage traffic and volume across its global network.
“XO’s expanded MPLS IP-VPN coverage helps the company more effectively meet the domestic and international connectivity requirements of enterprise customers. It enables XO to offer more consistent services across a broader footprint, which is a critical part of its strategy to support large businesses,” said Rena Bhattacharyya, research manager for Enterprise Telecom Services at IDC.
According to the press release, XO’s international coverage now includes Australia, Bermuda, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand and the United Kingdom.
XO said there will be more network updates in the near future as it seeks out additional opportunities for expansion.
