YANGAROO Inc., a leading secure digital media distribution company, announced today that its Digital Media Distribution System (DMDS) successfully slashed costs and provided an environmentally-friendly method for distributing music and enabling the judging process for The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) in association with this year’s JUNO Awards.
Utilizing the technological capabilities of YANGAROO’s new DMDS 5.0 platform, more than 300 jury and 1,700 Academy members were able to review submitted materials online, eliminating the need to collect, manage and distribute approx. 15,000 physical CDs. The digital process also helped reduce costs and waste from packaging and shipping materials.
“YANGAROO is an excellent partner that took the time to understand CARAS’ commitment to sustainability, and customized a solution to meet our needs and exceeded our expectations. We look forward to growing with DMDS over the course of our three-year partnership,” commented Brenna Knought, Manager, Awards & Special Events.
“Once again, the Canadian Music Industry leads the way,” added Cliff Hunt, Chairman and COO of YANGAROO Inc. “This digital delivery process made possible by DMDS 5.0 proved to be faster, more efficient, less expensive, and helped protect the environment. With its successful completion, we hope to engage other organizations in similar deals.”
