Stocks were mostly down around the world on Friday as more and more individuals came to grips with the fact that we are indeed facing conditions indicative of a looming global recession. Another round of disheartening quarterly reviews and forecasts had the Dow dropping 400 points, though it was a small dive compared to what was expected by some on Wall Street. Superstitious as it may be, many investors can’t help but remember that the 79th anniversary of the infamous stock market crash of 1929 (which later became known as Black Monday), is just four days away.
