Sinobiopharma, Inc., (SNBP.OB), a biotechnology company with primary operations in Nantong, China, recently announced the completed acquisition of DongYing Pharmaceutical (DongYing BVI). DongYing BVI will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sinobiopharma.
DongYing BVI is the sole shareholder of Big Global Limited, a company organized under the laws of Hong Kong, which in turn is the sole shareholder of DongYing (Jiangsu) Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. (“DongYing China”), a company organized under the laws of China. DongYing China is in the business of researching, producing and developing a variety of biopharmaceutical products, and has developed new methods for the synthesis of active pharmaceutical ingredients and innovative drug delivery that dramatically reduce the time and cost of drug development.
Sinobiopharma, Inc. was formerly known as Buzz Media, Ltd. In July, Buzz Media, a Canadian company, merged with its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sinobiopharma, and the company changed its name from Buzz Media, Ltd. to Sinobiopharma, Inc. in order to better reflect the business and its direction.
As part of the acquisition of DongYing Pharmaceutical, Sinobiopharma has replaced president and CEO Mr. Jianguo Wang with Dr. Legun Lee Huang, one of the founders and current chairman and CEO of DongYing China. Dr. Huang is a professor at the Medical School of Nanjing University in China, and worked from 1991 to 2004 at the Bayer Research Center in New Haven, Connecticut. He received his Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Iowa State University in 1987.
Sinobiopharma has been engaged in the research, development, manufacture, and marketing of biopharmaceutical products in China, especially anesthesia-assisted agents and cardiovascular drugs, and has a general focus toward the development of drugs that are safer, cheaper, and more effective. The company has patents for a variety of drugs and associated processes, and has a nationwide sales and distribution operation covering major cities throughout China.
