Hybrid Technologies, Inc. is an electric car manufacturer based in Mooresville, NC. If the name is ringing any bells, it is because Mooresville is the birthplace of NASCAR. It seems almost the perfect location for automotive innovation, and Hybrid is definitely known as an innovator.
Hybrid Technologies takes traditional gas-powered cars, and converts them to fully-electric, lithium ion battery-operated vehicles. The company has been receiving a lot of publicity, including attention from Hollywood. In fact, well-known actor Alan Thicke recently made his way to Mooresville to tour Hybrid’s facilities and take home the company’s version of the BMW Mini Cooper convertible. In addition to other versions of popular cars like the PT cruiser and the Mini, Hybrid has also designed a sports car from the ground up.
Alan Thicke appeared on FOX NEWS Charlotte expressing the pressure felt by the Hollywood elite to set a “green” example for the rest of the country. Of all his options, Mr. Thicke chose Hybrid, stating, “This was the most impressive to me, with the broadest scope of possibilities, and so I said ‘I gotta come see what they’re up to. It just makes so much sense, economically and environmentally.'”
