As part of one of its three lines of business (Online Portal Operation and Service, www.playolive.com), Joytoto USA plans to release “Pang Pang Terrible”, a first person shooter game geared towards younger players. The game features some role playing at various levels of difficulty where players can create their own characters, and intends to minimize violence. This game will be Joytoto’s initial entry into the US market, and game is expected to go live sometime during the third quarter of 2008.
This will allow the company’s subsidiary, JEI, to launch even more popular online games into the US market, including MMORPGs (Massively Multiple Online Role Playing Games), FPS (First-person shooter), casual games, sports games and board games, among others. In this way, Joytoto America intends to become a leading total entertainment company with a loyal subscriber base.
On Monday, June 16, 2008, Joytoto announced they will engage in the US distribution of a game called The Great Merchant, popular in Korea, once it is translated sometime in the 4th quarter of this year. Other games listed on the Joytoto website currently include the following:
SADO: A Street Action Dog Fight: Includes take downs, two player moves, and other ground techniques that make this unique. Characters, maps, single character and non-playing characters, experience points and money points are also features of the game.
FOUL KING: This is an online wrestling game. It includes melee action play and a vast character collection as well as simulation of counter attacks. Players say it resembles an arcade game.
JANGGUN ONLINE: This is a new Genre of Casual Game RTTS (Real-Time Turn Strategy). It includes an Expanded War zone to create team play with Fast Game speed where there is no time to relax. Backgrounds are based on Fantasy graphics in Full 3D.
Joytoto also intends to launch an innovative new revenue model by providing online games available for download to MP3 devices via its second business line: content to MP3 devices via the Internet.
Finally, the third business line for Joytoto helps to bolster the others. It is their original equipment manufacturing (OEM) of MP3 devices. Joytoto Technologies exclusively supplies Best Buy’s in-house brand Insignia MP3 players. They do so with a “factoryless” manufacturing model that reduces costs while avoiding the financial risk and costs associated with maintaining large factories, facilities and staff.
