If you’ve ever traveled abroad, or said farewell to a family or friend doing so, you know the worry that follows their departure. Even a trip across town or the nation can create worry when it comes to the safety of loved ones. Tracking platforms are designed to ease that anxiety and provide travelers with a sense of security.
GTX Corp. (OTCBB: GTXO) provides such technology, and today announced the integration of Google Maps API Premier into the tracking platform of the gpVector Personal Location Service (PLS) technology. The PLS system is the size of a matchbook, equipped with a location-reporting module that utilizes GTX’s tracking technology, delivering real-time geographic coordinates via Google Maps, through cellular transmission.
“Choosing Google Maps API Premier as our primary mapping interface further illustrates our commitment to establishing relationships with best-in-class providers to enhance our users’ experience. In this case, we’re giving our customers the most advanced mapping tool available, allowing them to offer a viewing perspective second to none,” Patrick Bertagna, GTX Corp.’s CEO and president stated in the press release.
The company’s collaboration with Google Maps leaves traditional topology-management functions, such as relying on static maps, in the dust. Google Maps API Premier offers an interactive interface featuring panning, zooming, satellite images and street-level views in certain locations.
“Google is excited to have GTX Corp integrate our Google Maps API Premier into its products,” said Dan Israel, product marketing manager for Google Enterprise. “GTX Corp.’s use of Google Maps will help bring its personal location services to a broader audience.”
GTX Corp. has been working to improve its technology for the past five years. Teaming with Google Maps allows users to track street addresses or specific locations, following travel data (bread crumbs) for future analysis.
