3DIcon Corporation is a developer of highly advanced 3D projection technologies for the purpose of displaying true three-dimensional, 360 degree volumetric images. 3DIcon welcomed a new CTO to its ranks this week, in acclaimed scientist Dr. Hakki Refai, whose research at the University of Oklahoma led to the development of the company’s CSpace™ and Pixel Precision™ 3D technologies. Starting this quarter, Dr. Refai will be responsible for the oversight of 3DIcon’s technology development, as well as working with licensing partners on the monetization of those technologies.
Many believe that Dr. Refai’s presence will quicken the company’s pace in accomplishing its missions, including 3DIcon president Vivek Bhaman, who stated: “As we start to build potential licensing and development partnerships for our 3D technologies, having Dr. Refai’s expertise in-house will greatly enhance our ability to move the scientific and commercial efforts forward at an accelerated pace. Furthermore, as the inventor of our key 3D technology, CSpace™, Dr. Refai is the best person to direct and drive the integration of CSpace™ technology into industry and product-specific 3D applications.”
Dr. Refai seems anxious to commence his duties at 3DIcon, as reflected in this statement: “I am excited and very pleased to be coming on board with 3DIcon at a momentous time in the transfer of these technologies from the lab to the commercial marketplace. It is my goal to advance and deliver critical milestones that will drive the advancement and commercialization of our technologies in the emerging 3D industry.”
